First and foremost, I want every parent and student to understand that getting to college is not about pursuing entrance into a specific short list of schools with single digit acceptance rates. Helping a student get to a best fit college is less about the application per se and more about helping the student know themselves. Starting as early as spring of the 8th grade year I like to guide my students through a 4 step building process.
The goal is to launch each student as independent and self-aware developing adults to a college that is a good fit academically, social and financial for them and their family. During your consultation we will dig deeper into how each step builds on the last and how my unique approach serves students.
Thanks to April, I was able to get into and thrive at a school which is a great fit for me.
April helped me identify track as the extracurricular that would distinguish my application. She guided me through the ins and outs of the recruiting process at the schools I wanted to attend: connecting with coaches, marketing myself to be an attractive recruit, and identifying which coaches were interested in me and what all their emails, texts, and calls really meant.
I was able to narrow my focus down to those schools which reciprocated my interest; UChicago was one of them and also one of my top choices. Ultimately, I applied early decision and the coach's pull, combined with my strong academics, helped me gain acceptance!
It's been the perfect place for me to develop both academically and athletically.
I had first utilized PES for advice on my USC scholarship interview. I was able to easily book an appointment within 24 hours with ease. Even though I'd never met April personally, she was more than happy to overview my interview preparation and offer personal advice.
She calmed my nerves, read through my CommonApp, and provided guidance. Afterwards, she personally encouraged me to book a follow-up meeting with her to review my financial aid offers and college decisions results.
I went on to win a full-tuition Trustee scholarship at the University of Southern California.
April is very knowledgeable and professional.
She is importantly very accessible for questions and assistance. She is expert on the process that may be unfamiliar to those who have not applied to schools in a couple of decades. She can recommend schools that will fit your needs, and takes pains to know the student in order to do so. Most importantly, she guides the student through the process and removes the potential conflict between parent and student.
We are grateful to you for your professionalism, patience, advice and time.
We want to thank you very much for all of your help and guidance! Your advice was excellent, starting with the basics of the process to Clyde’s essay, College App, Naviance, CouncelMore to the ongoing application process and Clydes need for a music portfolio were excellent and on target.
Clyde was accepted to the absolute perfect school for him!
We could not be more happy.
Thank you very much April! We are super grateful! :)
April is worth her weight in gold.
The investment you put in to hiring her to assist your student is worth every penny and more. She has a unique skill set in that she understands the college application process and is familiar with the criteria that colleges use in deciding whether to accept a student.
She gave us realistic expectations about the process of applications and helped our son by setting clear deadlines and took the pressure off of us by holding him accountable for his role in the application process.
She helped us understand that choosing a college isn’t just about grades or career choice and that all aspects of the individual should be considered: academic, personal, spiritual, emotional, environmental, etc.

April has an amazing rapport with students.
My child has academic accommodations and I was concerned about their ability to make realistic choices. We were butting heads on everything.
April's sincere interest in her students draws them out to showcase their most authentic self. April held our hands through the tumultuous FAFSA rollercoaster and provided tools to help us make realistic predictions of what to expect as we waited. Again, her wisdom was spot on.
Family meetings kept us informed and the individual attention to my student made space for him to reflect deeply to make honest and realistic choices.

The guidance April provided my daughter was ten times better than what she would have been able to get from school resources or from us.
She gave my daughter tasks in small chunks which made everything much less intimidating. April helped guide her to make her own decisions and figure out what her priorities were.
As a parent, our biggest challenge was understanding what schools were out there and how to find the best fit. The athletic recruiting piece was completely unknown to us. April was an enormous help in the whole process.

April was invaluable and helped us to navigate the process.
It's stressful for kids and that leads to difficult conversations. Working with April helped most with our ability to communicate better and make decision on issues that mattered to us specifically.

April's presence has indeed brought our family peace of mind.
The college application process is undeniably intense for both students and parents. She is a remarkably a professional, compassionate, and understanding coach.
She played a vital role in simplifying the process and guiding the students to set realistic goals. Her discussions with the students about their aspirations and helping them identify the most suitable schools for their majors made a significant impact.
Her unique approach to connecting with students has made a significant difference, reassuring them that they are not on their own. She adeptly guides them through this intricate journey, providing comfort and emotional support.
She also made a huge impact by informing us about the colleges offering the most scholarship opportunities and helping us understand our potential eligibility.
We are truly grateful to have had her by our side during this challenging period. If you are seeking the finest coach for your seniors, your search ends with April.
She is simply exceptional!
